Product Description:

Specifically formulated for the effective removal of Inert Gas Soot (IGS) in tanks. Also acts as MULTIPURPOSE CLEANER & DEODORIZER

Specialized and effective removal of Inert Gas Soot (IGS) in tanks removing mineral oils, petroleum products, vegetable and animal oils, fish oils, carbon deposits, dirt, grease and grime. Compatible with most painted surfaces and dries leaving a good shine.

IGS CLEANER (INERT GAS SOOT CLEANER) is a water-based alkaline tank cleaner and degreaser, spceially formulated for the effective removal of Inert Gas Soot (IGS) in tanks.

IGS CLEANER is developed for overcoming the limitations imposed by liquid caustic based cleaning compounds. Its non-caustic cleaning and degreasing action, ensures the soot removal, without harming the paint and the personnel using it. IGS CLEANER is highly concentrated, comprising the most powerful biodegradable detergents, surfactants and corrosion inhibitors.

IGS CLEANER is water based, non flammable, biodegradable

IGS CLEANER (INERT GAS SOOT) EXTREMELY EFFECTIVE INERT GAS SOOT CLEANER,MULTIPURPOSE CLEANER & DEODORIZER

Product Application:

IGS CLEANER can be used to clean for stainless steel and epoxy coated tanks from Inert Gas Soot. Diluted, it removes most contaminations. IGS CLEANER can also be used as a deodorizing wash in all applications.

Suitable for epoxy, but not for zinc silicate coatings. In this case, use it diluted, and only after thorough testing of the product and surface interaction.

USE AND DOSING :

Instructions are based on experience and are meant only as a guide since circumstances for each tank cleaning operation vary. They are not intended to interfere with the judgment of the vessel’s responsible personnel.

Precleaning tanks with high pressure warm water is highly recommended since large deposits of oil or other residues in the tank must be removed to ensure an effective cleaning operation. Note that all cleaning chemicals have reduced effect with seawater. Prior to use of any chemicals, make sure the tanks and lines
are well stripped and drained.

Do not overheat as this may change the characteristics of the cargo and in some cases burn the cargo on the bulkhead. Carefully read the cargo specification.

Especially for zinc, since it is porous, a prolonged pre-cleaning with lower temperatures is highly recommended before chemicals are used on such lining.

When recirculation is applied, mix IGS CLEANER either in tank bottom or void space, at a rate between 5% and 8% with water, depending on the degree of contamination. Recycle the cleaning
Product Note:

USE AND DOSING (continued) :

solution through the tank washing system for a period of at least two hours per machine drop, with a cleaning time of 4 hours per tank usually being sufficient.

A minimum temperature of 70°C is recommended, since the cleaning ability is enhanced and the cleaning time shortened. However, the solution may be used at ambient temperature.

Tip: Do not use the entire quantity of IGS CLEANER in one solution for all tanks to be cleaned. Keep a few drums for boosting the solution’s cleaning efficiency for the last few tanks.

When recirculation is completed, wash down with water, using the maximum pressure available. In the case that stains remain on the surfaces, spot clean with undiluted IGS CLEANER directly on the stained area. Allow a reaction time of 30 minutes and then rinse with water. Do not leave the product to dry on bare coating. For persistent deposits, agitation by scrubbing will assist the cleaning operation. Heated water will increase the cleaning effect.

For general use, dilute appropriately, depending on the contamination and use conventional cleaning methods, such as brushing, scrubbing or spraying. Allow the product to act and then rinse with fresh water before drying.

PRODUCT PROPERTIES :

It is highly recommended to always test all cleaner solutions on a small area of tank coating, before full scale application.
