Spill response on deck, in the engine room and on the quay needs three things: something to contain the oil, something to pick it up and something to treat what remains. RXSOL supplies all three. Containment and recovery: Oil Spill Kit 30 gallon and 35 gallon (booms, pads, pillows, bags, PPE), oil absorbent pillows, saw dust and loose absorbents. Treatment: Oil Spill Dispersant Type II (for dilute application from vessels) and Type III (concentrate, neat spray) in 210-litre drums, Oil Spill Emulsifier for deck and bilge, Chembreak Emulsion Sludge Breaker for slop and sludge tanks, Enviro Oil Clean for shorelines and quays, SEA VOYAGE CLEAN Plus for hull and waterline oil, and Vaportek Ecoz odour neutraliser for tank and bilge vapours.
Dispersants are supplied with their application rate (dispersant-to-oil ratio) and note which national approvals they hold. Kits are stocked at the port warehouses for same-day delivery.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Type II and Type III dispersant?
Type II is diluted with sea water (about 1:10) and sprayed from vessels; Type III is applied neat from aircraft or spray arms at a lower dose. Both are listed with their dispersant-to-oil ratio.
What should a spill kit contain for an engine room?
Absorbent pads and pillows for oil, a small boom, disposal bags, gloves and goggles — the 30-gallon kit covers a typical engine-room spill.
Can dispersant be used in port?
Only where the port authority permits; absorbents and emulsifiers are the usual choice in harbour.
