Wall Wash Test Kit
Tank & Hold Cleaning
Before a chemical tanker loads a sensitive cargo the tank walls are wall-washed with methanol and the washings tested for chlorides, hydrocarbons, colour and permanganate time fade. RXSOL supplies the reagents and hardware for that test and for cargo sampling generally: 0.1 N (N/10) sodium hydroxide and other standard solutions, ferric alum indicator for the chloride titration, glass sample bottles with cap (500 ml), Van Veen grab sampler for sediments, online liquid samplers with dosing pump and cycle timer, pipeline instant sampling kits (methods I and II), sample coolers, hose tester equipment and freezing-point apparatus.
Kits are assembled to the standard wall-wash procedure and can be supplied with a written method and certificate of the reagent concentration. Stock at Mumbai, Kandla and Fujairah, where most parcel tankers call.
Frequently asked questions
What does a wall-wash test check?
Chloride (by silver-nitrate titration), hydrocarbons (water-miscibility test), colour (Pt-Co) and permanganate time test on the methanol washings, to confirm the tank is clean for the next cargo.
Do you supply the methanol?
Yes — methanol AR grade is available from the Lab Chemical category; order it with the kit.
Are the standard solutions certified?
0.1 N solutions are supplied with a standardisation certificate on request.
