Soft Brown Soap

Soap that is liquid or easily soluble, usually made by saponification with potassium instead of the more typical sodium hydroxide.

A semi-liquid soap for general cleaning. Made from vegetable oil mixed with soap and can be used when mixed with water for cleaning painted surfaces,  woodworking and for general deck cleaning. Furnished in 18 kg cans.

Soft soap, a soap of a gray or brownish yellow color, and of a slimy, jellylike consistence, made from potash or the lye from wood ashes. It is strongly alkaline and often contains glycerin, and is used in scouring wood, in cleansing linen, in dyehouses, etc. Figuratively, flattery; wheedling; blarney.
