Biodegradability:

Not relevant for an inorganic product such as this. This product mineralises immediately under normal conditions and is therefore considered to be readily degradable.

Aquatic Toxicity:

FISH Lepomis macrochirus LC50 (96 h): pH=3,0-3,5.* At pH= 4,8-5,6 Aluminium appears in a chemical form which is very toxic for fish (suffocation).

Other Information:

The pH decrease is responsible for the environmental effect on fish, plankton and stationary organisms. At pH= 3,0 the mucous membrane of the gills will coagulate (suffocation). pH= 4,0 causes irritation of the gills. If not neutralised, this product can be toxic for aquatic organisms.
