RO Chemicals
Water Treatment
Membrane plants lose output to three enemies — scale, biofouling and organic/colloidal fouling — and RXSOL has a product for each. Scale: Antiscalant RO 5300, Antiscalant RO 4101 and RO Antiscalant ALKA 191T (phosphonate/polymer blends) dosed at 2–5 ppm to the feed to hold calcium carbonate, calcium sulphate, barium sulphate and silica in solution at high recovery; high-silica formulations for brackish wells. Biofouling: ProShield PC55 RO Biocide (non-oxidising, membrane-safe), Oxidising Chloro Biocide for pretreatment, with sodium bisulphite dechlorination. Fouling and cleaning: Membrane Cleaner Alkaline and Membrane Cleaner MC 103 for organics and biofilm, ORG Clean MC 721 Acidic Cleaner for carbonate and iron, BioClean Organic Debris Cleaner 99, EDTA Solution 40% chelant. Pretreatment: Coagulant Aluminium Chlorohydrate (ACH), hydrochloric acid for pH adjustment and Potable Water Corrosion Inhibitor for the permeate line.
Dosing is given in ppm of feed water; a clean-in-place (CIP) procedure with pH, temperature and circulation time is on each cleaner's page.
Frequently asked questions
What is the antiscalant dose for a brackish-water RO?
Usually 2–5 ppm of product in the feed, set by the LSI/saturation calculation for the feed analysis and recovery; send the analysis for a projection.
When should I clean the membranes?
When normalised permeate flow drops 10–15%, differential pressure rises 15%, or salt passage increases noticeably — clean early; heavy fouling is harder to reverse.
Alkaline or acidic cleaner first?
Alkaline (pH 11–12) first for organics and biofilm, rinse, then acidic (pH 2–3) for carbonate and iron, unless the foulant is known to be only mineral.
Is ProShield PC55 compatible with polyamide membranes?
Yes, it is a non-oxidising biocide formulated for TFC polyamide membranes; dose and contact time are on its page.
Do you supply RO chemicals in the UAE and Oman?
Yes, from Fujairah and Barka, with the same part numbers.
