Applications
A white powder that is used as a Drier in oil paints and varnishes to speed the polymerization and oxidation processes. Lead stearate is also used as a lubricant during extrusion, as a stabilizer in vinyl polymers and as a corrosion inhibitor in petroleum products.
Dosage and directions
It is widely used as a release agent for the production of many kinds of objects: rubber, polyurethane, polyester processing system, powder metallurgy. These applications exploit its "non-stick" properties. In cosmetics, zinc stearate is a lubricant and thickening agent used to improve texture.
