Overview

RXSOL Solvent Clean is a superior product in its category, designed to very effectively remove oil and grease, carbon deposits, varnish, gummy matter and all persistent dirt from areas where oil combustion products have been accumulated. It contains active, fast penetrating solvents and corrosion inhibitors. This product differentiates from other similar products due to its two-layer mechanism. The top-layer prevents the evaporation of the volatile components in the bottom-layer. The latter removes the deposits substances. Therefore, the deposits are trapped and are easy to remove.

Applications

RXSOL Solvent Clean penetrates deposits and dissolves oil, grease, from ferrous and nonferrous  spares. It ‘s application for cleaning of , rings, valves, fuel injectors, connecting rods and all components likely to be fouled with carbon deposits. It has other uses such as fuel oil and lub oil filter cleaner, oil cooler cleaner, cardium compound from pinions, Turbo charger, and  stripper for rust and soil grease.

Dosage and directions

A. Soaking method

Fill a soaking tank filled with a 3:1 solution of RXSOL Solvent Clean in water and stir continuously to allow even distribution of the corrosion inhibitors. Due to its high evaporation rate, a water seal is required to stop the phenomenon, thus allow one (1) hour for the water seal to form. Place the parts to be cleaned into the solution and let them soak until deposits are completely dissolved and can be removed. (soaking time depends on the thickness and composition of the deposits). Remove parts from the bath through water seal (which provides a first rinsing) and rinse with a stream of water. Hard, persisting deposits may be removed with a wire brush.

 B. Brushing method

For large, heavy pieces, RXSOL Solvent Clean  is applied with a brush. Brush the treated area until  the deposits are saturated, loosened and can easily be removed. Spray with water to rinse and then use a cloth to dry.

 C. Closed Circuit

Recirculate undiluted RXSOL Solvent Clean  prior to blowing steam through the system to be  cleaned in order to remove the residual oil. Heat up to 50oC for better results. Circulation time depends on the degree of fouling and may vary from 4 to 24 hours. Upon completion, drain and flush with water or Diesel and Kerosene.

Glycol Ether DPM (CAS# 34590-94-8 )                      100 ppm         100 ppm

POTENTIAL PHYSICAL / CHEMICAL EFFECTS
Combustible. Material can release vapors that readily form flammable mixtures. Vapor accumulation could flash and/or explode if ignited. Material can accumulate static charges which may cause an incendiary electrical discharge.
POTENTIAL HEALTH EFFECTS
Repeated exposure may cause skin dryness or cracking. If swallowed, may be aspirated and cause lung damage. May be irritating to the eyes, nose, throat, and lungs.
ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS
May cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic environment.
NOTE: This material should not be used for any other purpose than the intended use in Section 1 without expert advice. Health studies have shown that chemical exposure may cause potential human health risks which may vary from person to person.

INHALATION
Remove from further exposure. For those providing assistance, avoid exposure to yourself or others. Use adequate respiratory protection. If respiratory irritation, dizziness, nausea, or unconsciousness occurs, seek immediate medical assistance. If breathing has stopped, assist ventilation with a mechanical device or use mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
SKIN CONTACT
Wash contact areas with soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing. Launder contaminated clothing before reuse.
EYE CONTACT
Flush thoroughly with water. If irritation occurs, get medical assistance.
INGESTION
Seek immediate medical attention. Do not induce vomiting.
NOTE TO PHYSICIAN
If ingested, material may be aspirated into the lungs and cause chemical pneumonitis. Treat appropriately.

FLAMMABILITY PROPERTIES
Flash Point :137º F
EXTINGUISHING MEDIA
Appropriate Extinguishing Media: Use water fog, foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide (CO2) to extinguish flames.
Inappropriate Extinguishing Media: Straight Streams of Water
FIRE FIGHTING
Fire Fighting Instructions: Evacuate area. Prevent runoff from fire control or dilution from entering streams, sewers, or drinking water supply. Firefighters should use standard protective equipment and in enclosed spaces, self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). Use water spray to cool fire exposed surfaces and to protect personnel.
Unusual Fire Hazards: Vapors are flammable and heavier than air. Vapors may travel across the ground and reach remote ignition sources causing a flashback fire danger. Hazardous material.
Firefighters should consider protective equipment indicated in Section 8.
Hazardous Combustion Products: Incomplete combustion products, Oxides of carbon, Smoke, Fume

ROTECTIVE MEASURES
Avoid contact with spilled material. Warn or evacuate occupants in surrounding and downwind areas if required due to toxicity or flammability of the material. See Section 5 for fire fighting information. See the Hazard Identification Section for Significant Hazards. See Section 4 for First Aid Advice. See Section 8 for Personal Protective Equipment.
SPILL MANAGEMENT
Do not touch or walk through spilled material. Prevent entry into waterways, sewers, basements or confined areas. Use clean non-sparking tools to collect absorbed material. Absorb or cover with dry earth, sand or other non-combustible material and transfer to containers.

HANDLING
Avoid contact with skin. Prevent small spills and leakage to avoid slip hazard. Material can accumulate static charges which may cause an electrical spark (ignition source). Static Accumulator: This material is a static accumulator.
STORAGE
Keep container closed. Handle containers with care. Open slowly in order to control possible pressure release. Store in a cool, well-ventilated area.

ENGINEERING CONTROLS
The level of protection and types of controls necessary will vary depending upon potential exposure conditions. Control measures to consider: Adequate ventilation should be provided so that exposure limits are not exceeded. Use explosion-proof ventilation equipment.
PERSONAL PROTECTION
Personal protective equipment selections vary based on potential exposure conditions such as applications, handling practices, concentration and ventilation. Information on the selection of protective equipment for use with this material, as provided below, is based upon intended, normal usage.
Respiratory Protection: If engineering controls do not maintain airborne contaminant concentrations at a level which is adequate to protect worker health, an approved respirator may be appropriate. Respirator selection, use, and maintenance must be in accordance with regulatory requirements, if applicable. Types of respirators to be considered for this material include: Half-face filter respirator.
Hand Protection: The types of gloves to be considered for this material include:
If prolonged or repeated contact is likely, chemical resistant gloves are recommended. If contact with forearms is likely, wear gauntlet style gloves.
Eye Protection: If contact is likely, safety glasses with side shields are recommended.
Skin and Body Protection: If prolonged or repeated contact is likely, chemical, and oil resistant clothing is recommended.
Specific Hygiene Measures: Always observe good personal hygiene measures, such as washing after handling the material and before eating, drinking, and/or smoking. Routinely wash work clothing and protective equipment to remove contaminants. Discard contaminated clothing and footwear that cannot be cleaned. Practice good housekeeping.
