Activated carbon removes chlorine, taste, odour and organics from water and VOCs and H2S from air. What iodine number should I specify for dechlorination?
A coal-based GAC of 900–1,000 mg/g iodine number is standard; the XP 900 grade is named for it.

Granular for fixed-bed filters (reusable, reactivatable); powdered for batch dosing and decolourising where it is filtered out afterwards.
