What is Hold Block and why hold block application is better than LIME WASH?
When aggressive or corrosive dry bulk cargoes—such as fertilizers, salt, coal, or sulphur—come into direct contact with the metal surfaces of ship holds, they can cause rapid corrosion and surface degradation due to chemical reactions. This not only weakens the structural integrity of the vessel but also leads to costly repairs and safety risks.
To prevent such reactions and ensure long-lasting surface protection, a polymer-based protective coating is the ideal solution.
Chemical Resistance
Acts as a barrier against corrosive cargoes, preventing direct metal contact and chemical reaction.
Easy Application
Applied by brush, roller, or spray before cargo loading. Forms a durable, even protective film.
Temporary or Voyage-Specific Use
Perfect for short-term voyages carrying highly reactive cargoes, allowing for easy cleaning and reapplication after discharge.
Prevents Pitting & Rust Formation
Shields steel from moisture, acidic residues, and abrasion, reducing long-term maintenance costs.
Sulphur
Salt
Phosphates
Urea
Coal & Petcoke
Cement
Bauxite
Polymer-based water-resistant coating
Safe on all standard marine metal surfaces
Compatible with hold cleaning chemicals
Non-reactive, non-toxic, and easy to remove
Protects for the entire duration of cargo voyage
Apply 1–2 coats uniformly across cargo hold surfaces prior to loading reactive cargo. For enhanced protection, focus on:
Tank tops
Bulkheads
Frames and internal structures
Hatch coamings

Isothiazolinone is high performance, broad spectrum, antimicrobial agents based on the proven isothiazolone chemistry. It is excellent Isothiazolinone biocide and Oilfield Bactericide. They are effective at very low concentrations in controlling both the planktonic and surface growth of bacteria, fungi and algae and have been produced specifically for water treatment and paper mill applications. It could be used Isothiazolinone in water treatment and Oilfield Bactericide applications
The bactericidal effect of Isothiazolinones is carried out through breaking the bond between bacteria and algae protein. When contacted with microbes,Isothiazolinones can quickly inhibit their growth, thus leading to death of these microbes.Isothiazolinones has strong inhibition and biocidal effects on ordinary bacteria, fungi and alga, and has many advantages such as high biocidal efficiency, good degradation, noresidual, safety in operation, good compatibleness, good stabilization, low cost in operation.
