Cobalt acetate [Co(C2H3O2)24H2O] is a reddish-violet, deliquescent crystal; soluble in water, alcohol, and acids.
Cobalt acetate is a powerful oxidation catalyst. It is used as a feed additive mineral supplement.
Appearance: Dark brown liquid.
Density: 1.33 g/ml @ 200C.
Flash Point: Non-flammable.

Equipment materials
Mild steel is suitable for tank construction but it should be at least 6 mm (¼”) thick, welded inside and out. Heaters must be stainless steel or Inconel.
