Water Treatment
A boiler programme has to do four things: remove dissolved oxygen, hold alkalinity and pH in range, keep hardness from scaling the tubes, and protect the condensate line from carbonic-acid attack. RXSOL supplies a product for each step and combined treatments for small marine and package boilers. Oxygen control: Oxygen Scavenger Carbohydrazide (hydrazine-free), Hydrazine Hydrate 35% and 50%, Boiler Oxy Control, Oxygen Remover Scavenger Plus and Sodium Sulphite with catalyst. Alkalinity and pH: Alkalinity Control, caustic-based boosters. Scale and sludge: BoilerGuard SCP (polymer-phosphate programme), Antiscalant ORG EV 2030. Condensate: Condensnol Amine Corrosion Control, AMERZAMINE, Cyclo Hexyl Amine and neutralising-amine blends. Combined: Boiler Water Treatment Autotreat and LIQUIVAP TREAT for auxiliary boilers and evaporators.
Each page gives the dose per tonne of feed water or per cubic metre of boiler water, the control range (for example 20–50 ppm sulphite reserve, P-alkalinity 100–300 ppm, pH 10.5–11.5) and the matching test kit. Packs: 25 kg / 25 L and 210 L.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between hydrazine and carbohydrazide oxygen scavengers?
Carbohydrazide is a non-toxic replacement for hydrazine that reacts with oxygen and passivates boiler steel; it is preferred where hydrazine handling is restricted. Dose is set by the dissolved-oxygen level.
How much Autotreat for a marine auxiliary boiler?
Autotreat is dosed to maintain the alkalinity and phosphate reserve shown on its page; a starting dose and the daily adjustment from test results are both listed.
Which chemical protects the condensate line?
A neutralising amine such as Condensnol or cyclohexylamine, dosed to keep condensate pH 8.3–9.0; filming amines are used for long steam lines.
